Foods You Should Stock Up On To Heal Your Chakras

Chakra Foods

We all know that the food we eat greatly affects the health of our physical body.

But did you know that it also affects your emotional and spiritual health?

Certain foods that you eat can interact with your Chakras, or energy centers...

And these Chakras are very important because they are directly related to your health.

Things like anxiety, poor self-esteem, and neck pain, just to name a few, are the result of a Chakra imbalance, but they can all be improved by eating the right foods.

For example, anxiety manifests as a result of an imbalance in your Third Eye Chakra… so in order to calm your nerves and relax your body, you must bring this energy center back into balance. And you can do that with a delicious snack.

Once you learn the foods that you need to eat for optimal Chakra health, your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies will be balanced, and you’ll be able to:

  • Release stagnant energy that’s causing you physical pain
  • Let go of past experiences that are preventing you from finding true happiness
  • Feel confident and capable, even when trying something new

And so much more...

Eating Certain Foods Can Help Balance and Heal Your Chakras…

The energy centers in your body are directly connected to the health of your entire system. When your Chakras are out of balance, you can experience physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual problems.

One of the easiest ways to use food to heal each Chakra is to fill your plate with the color of the Chakra that’s in need of healing. (More on that in just a moment.)

But it’s not just a food’s color that will enable it to heal one of your energy centers… From fighting depression and helping you feel more stable and sure of yourself, to increasing your self-confidence and healing the digestive system, food can be a powerful way to balance and heal your Chakras.

The first Chakra, located at the base of your spine, is called the Root Chakra…

Root Chakra

Your Root Chakra is energetically connected to the earth. It helps you cultivate a sense of grounding and stability in your life.

Root Chakra Foods

This energy center can benefit from a protein-rich diet that includes lots of root vegetables. It’s best to choose a plant-based protein as opposed to animal-based because your Root Chakra is connected to the Earth element, and protein-rich foods from the earth will be especially powerful for this energy center.

You can mix some animal-based protein into your diet, but make sure that the meat you’re eating is organic and has come from companies that treat their animals well.

Protein is important to this energy center because it helps to strengthen your physical body and keep it healthy. Your Root Chakra plays a big role in your physical health and your will to live, so make sure this Chakra is balanced before moving on to higher energy centers.

Feeding your body foods that have come out of the earth, such as beetroot, radishes, and carrots, will help your Root Chakra find balance as it connects with the positive energy from the earth.

Red foods can also provide an energetic boost to your Root. Try eating red berries, pomegranate, organic red meat, and red beans.

A lot of proteins require cooking, which can be a bit time consuming. If you’re pressed for time, I invite you to try the 5-Minute Chakra Balancing Plan

Chakra Balancing Plan

The food that you need for your next Chakra may not be considered a food by some people…

Sacral Chakra

Your second Chakra is all about fluidity, emotions, and sensuality. It helps balance your movement and connection to those around you.

That being said, one of the best foods for this energy center is liquids. Your Sacral Chakra is connected to the water element, so feeding your body liquids can help to bring this Chakra back into balance.

Make sure you stay hydrated and drink plenty of water. It’s best to spread this out over the course of the day so that your body can fully process the water. When you drink a large amount of water, or any liquid, all at one time, your body doesn’t know what to do with all of it, so most of the liquid goes straight through you instead of being absorbed.

You can also choose foods that have a high liquid content such as celery, cucumbers, and watermelon. These nutrient-rich foods will nourish your cells, your skin, and your blood.

Sacral Chakra Foods

Orange foods are also beneficial for this Chakra. Some of my favorites are carrots, cantaloupe, butternut squash, and tumeric.

To hit both the orange color and the liquid, try drinking orange juice or carrot juice. Just make sure there’s nothing added (like extra sugar) and that it’s organic.

On the opposite end of the spectrum from liquids, you’ll need these foods for your Solar Plexus...

Solar Plexus Chakra

Since this energy center is connected to your gut, it’s important to eat foods that benefit your digestive system. I recommend eating complex carbohydrates.

Before you stock up on your favorite bread and chips, let’s take a look at the difference between complex and simple carbs.

Solar Plexus Foods

Simple carbs are those sugary foods that your body metabolizes quickly. They usually come in the form of white bread, potato chips, or grains that have been processed.

Complex carbohydrates are a nutritional powerhouse because they offer your body vitamins, minerals, and fiber. These are unrefined foods that haven’t been processed like their simple counterparts.

The great thing about complex carbs, and one of the reasons they are so good for your Solar Plexus Chakra, is that they contain fiber that helps optimize your stomach’s digestive processes

Complex carbs are foods such as whole grains, starchy vegetables, and fruits. Grains I love to eat are quinoa, millet, and bulgar.

These healthy carbs will provide you with sustained energy so that you can be active and productive throughout your day.

Additionally, yellow colored foods can stimulate the energy in your Solar Plexus Chakra. Choose foods like corn, bananas, yellow squash, pineapple, and chickpeas.

One of my favorite things to do is put chickpeas on top of my salads, which is what you’ll need to eat for your next energy center…

Heart Chakra

Love, abundance, growth, and balance are all related to your Heart Chakra. And the best foods to nourish and balance it are leafy vegetables and green tea.

Heart Chakra Foods

Grab a giant salad, or throw your favorite veggies in a blender so that you can enjoy the health benefits of these food as a smoothie.

Leafy vegetables that come from the earth will offer your body lots of nutrients. These greens are rich in a vitamin called folate that is essential for keeping your heart healthy.

Green tea is especially good for this Chakra as it can help to lower your cholesterol and prevent buildup of plaque in your heart.

Other green foods to include in your diet are broccoli, brussel sprouts, asparagus, peas, and kiwis.

These foods are all great for your Heart Chakra, but there’s one simple thing you can do to make them work for your next Chakra, too…

Throat Chakra

This Chakra is connected with your ability to communicate and speak the truth. Since it is located in the throat, it is essential to provide your physical body with plenty of liquids to help bring this part of the energetic body back in sync.

Throat Chakra Foods

For this energy center, you have smoothies, soups, juices, or almost anything in liquid form.

Just think about the kinds of foods that you tend to eat when you are sick or have a cold. Chicken noodle soup, tea with honey, lots and lots of liquids…

A dry or parched throat can make it extremely difficult to speak and can also be the beginnings of a number of illnesses. Eating food in its liquid form will be soothing to the throat and Throat Chakra so that it can heal if out of balance.

The color associated with your Throat Chakra is a lighter blue, and it can be pretty hard to think of any foods found in nature that match this color. If you find that’s the case, and need an alternate path for healing, check out the 5-Minute Chakra Balancing Plan

After you answer questions 8 and 9, you’ll know for sure if your Throat Chakra is healthy or in need of some of the above foods. Click here to download the free plan

Like I said, natural blue foods are pretty hard to come by. But there is one extremely powerful one that can benefit your Third Eye…

Third Eye Chakra

Your wisdom and intuition are powered by your Third Eye Chakra.

One of the best foods for balancing this energy center is blueberries. They pack a one-two punch for healing because they are dark blue to match the color of this Chakra, and they are also full of antioxidants that can help boost your brain functioning.

And since your Third Eye relates to your mental capacities like memory, these colorful berries will give your recall a nice boost!

Third Eye Chakra Foods

Blueberries are great on their own, in smoothies, or as a topping on whole grain oatmeal (which will give your Solar Plexus Chakra an added boost).

There aren’t very many naturally blue foods, but a few more that you might be able to find are blue corn and blue(ish) potatoes.

Any food that is rich in omega-3s is also effective for healing this Chakra. Your brain, powered by the Third Eye and Crown Chakras, needs these powerful nutrients to help support cognitive functioning and learning.

The omega-3s in foods like nuts and fish may also reduce anxiety and depression, boost your eye health, and improve your sleep, which are all related to your Third Eye.

While your Third Eye is connected to your brain functioning, your next energy center also links with your brain…

Crown Chakra

Spiritual communication and connection to the universe are housed within your Crown Chakra, which is located on the top of your head.

Crown Chakra Foods

The color associated with your Crown is violet, so look to add foods like grape juice, eggplant, plums, and purple carrots to your diet.

While these foods may be helpful to healing your highest energy center, there are other methods that may be more effective.

Because this Chakra is in the spiritual realm, physical nourishment can’t be used on its own. Heal your Crown Chakra with other practices such as meditation, yoga, or Reiki

If you suspect your Crown Chakra is out of balance, I invite you to download my 5-Minute Chakra Balancing Plan. This is the exact method I use on myself and on my clients, and it’s extremely accurate.
